A parade of former pageant queens and other philanthropic supporters gathered after sunset for “Star Light, Star Bright” HUGS Love Gala. Hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Tiki’s Grill and Pomaika’i Ballrooms satisfied guests meandering through The Modern Honolulu’s chic interior to a palatial buffet and fine wines. Shining moments included entertainment by Jon Yamasato and David Kamakahi. HUGS stands for “Help, Understanding & Group Support” and its cause to provide complementary support services to seriously ill children and their families.
