Stepping Forward
Stuart Weitzman debuts a designer boutique in Hawaii
Aspare and elegant ribbon design by Italian architect Fabio Novembre wends its way around the new Stuart Weitzman boutique at Ala Moana Center, providing the perfect shelving for the shoe designer’s dazzling creations, known for a combination of great style and innovative materials.
Weitzman is a second-generation shoe designer who started working in his 20s with his father Seymour in the early 1960s. He’s continued designing ever since, building up his reputation as a global leader in designer footwear.
Stuart Weitzman designs are a favorite of celebrities such as Eva Langoria, Heidi Klum and Sharon Stone, and are always guaranteed a spot on Hollywood’s red carpets. The designer made headlines when he created a pair of $500,000, 30-karat diamond sandals for Anika Noni Rose, from the movie Dreamgirls, for the 2007 Oscar ceremonies.
For the rest of us, Stuart Weitzman footwear ranges from enduring classics to those that insist, “Look at me!”
In a good way, of course.
