Cool Cocktails
Looking for a little romance this Valentine’s Day? Then ditch that bottle of bombastic, bold Bordeaux and order something bubbling with style and passion.
Sexy and sophisticated, Moet & Chandon is the world’s best-known champagne. The passion comes in the form of Alize, a potent mix of French cognac, vodka and passion fruit.
We asked Bob Melton, an award-winning bartender at Chuck’s Steak House in Waikiki, to create a cool cocktail worthy of the hottest Valentine.
Do try this at home.
Valentine Passion
*4 oz. of Moet & Chandon Rose
*3/4 oz. of Red Passion Alize
* 1/2 oz. White Crme de Cacao
Garnish with chocolate-covered strawberry. Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker half filled with ice cubes. Strain and serve.
Strawberry Delight
* 4.5 oz. Moet & Chandon Rose
* 1 oz. Strawberry liqueur
Pour champagne and strawberry liquer into chilled champagne glass.
Garnish with chocolate-covered strawberry.
And just in case you need a hiding place for, say, a sparkling diamond ring, here’s the quintessential champagne cocktail.
Classic Champagne Cocktail

*Dash Angostura bitters
Soak the sugar cube in bitters, drop into crystal glass, and smother with champagne.
Enjoy the fizz.
