Find the best watches for formal and dressy occasions

The quest for a casually elegant timepiece that can translate from the boardroom to the red carpet has been made easy, thanks to watch-makers such as Jean Dunand, Rolex, Maitres du Temps, Omega and Maurice Lacroix.

These watchmaking giants have embraced the idea that elegance, class and innovation can all meet in a single timepiece, setting new standards of excellence.

As with every Jean Dunand timepiece, the Shabaka combines an instantaneous perpetual calendar with ingenious cylindrical indicators. Named after the first Pharaoh of the 25th Dynasty of ancient Egypt, the Shabaka reveals an Egyptian-influenced Art Deco design.

Rolex channels its obsession with perfection in its 2009 Datejust II masterpiece. Also a symbol of tradition and innovation, the Datejust was the first wristwatch to feature a date display.

The Maitres du Temps Chapter Two is a collaborative effort of watch masterminds Roger Dubuis, Peter Speake-Marin and Daniel Roth.

The Constellation Quadra Mini is a steel-on-steel piece of feminine perfection. It boasts a white mother-of-pearl dial with an alternating OMEGA symbol and diamond pattern.

Sensuality and enjoyment are the sources for Maurice Lacroix’s Divina collection. This new addition to the Maurice Lacroix family builds upon the company’s vision to continue to invest in the development of its own mechanisms and movements.
