The best watches for sports, travel and leisure

Summertime is all about the hottest accessories – hats, sunglasses, headbands and, of course, watches.

Sunny skies mean more time outdoors and more time traveling the globe, which means a fun, sporty watch can become an almost essential companion. Here’s a look at a few great summer pieces that have it all – style, practicality and purpose.

Louis Vuitton’s Montre Tambour Orientation was created in the spirit of travel. It features an exclusive movement to enable an estimation of the north direction, regardless of the hemisphere you are in – great for anyone who doesn’t like getting lost or asking for directions.

In celebrating its 125th anniversary, Breitling is re-affirming its passion for chronographs more powerfully than ever with the creation of the Breitling Navitimer 125E Anniversaire. As the official supplier to world aviation, the Navitimer chronograph, with its circular slide rule, is designed to compute all airborne navigation calculations.

Ferragamo’s F-80′s titanium and scratch-resistant bracelet and two time zone feature make it a great traveling and outdoors piece. It reflects the concept of experimenting with materials and boasts clean lines, impeccable movement and 110 hours of power reserve.

Omega does it right – twice – with its Constellation Double Eagle Chronograph and Speedmaster Solar Impulse. The Constellation is a fabulous sporty addition to Omega’s women’s line. Titanium with a rubber strap, the Constellation has free sprung balance with date, hour, minute, continuous small second hands and a central chronograph hand. The Solar Impulse also sports a handy second time zone, stop second function and 12-hour and 30-minute totalizers. Both pieces are water-resistant to 100 meters with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
